EARLVILLE – Earlville Opera House (EOH) is pleased to present the second show in our outdoor Summer Courtyard Series featuring Fiddle-Sax Fusion on Friday, August 2 at 7 p.m.

While onsite, view the vast depth and colors of our annual Quilt Show, check out our beautiful Artisan Gift Shop, take a chance on our Summer Bash Raffle Basket (valued at $500), and pop in to see the historic 1892 theater.

The Fiddle-Sax Fusion Band is an innovative, genre-blending ensemble with crossover appeal. Forged in the depths of the Covid-19 pandemic, they emerged with an exciting sound resulting from the unlikely combination of Old Time/Irish fiddle repertoire with blues-infused jazz improvisation and other folk styles from around the world. Husband and wife team Brian (saxophone) and Jessie Stark (2021 Illinois Old-Time Fiddle Champion) honed the style in their front-yard performances for their neighborhood during the Covid-19 pandemic. They currently round out their sound with the energizing percussion of Mark Shiner. Together they generated innovative arrangements in which the violin and saxophone each function as both lead and accompaniment instruments. Fiddle-Sax Fusion has gone on to perform events including the Bean Blossom Music Series, the CU Folk and Roots Festival, the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference, and a recent country dance sponsored by the CNYArts GRACE 2024 program.
Join us for a nice summer evening of outdoor music in our lovely backyard Courtyard. Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 for members, $10 for youth (17 and under), with college students half off general admission. Tickets are available at www.earlvilleoperahouse.com or by calling (315) 691-3550.

Don’t forget about our Summer Bash Raffle Basket filled with treasure valued at $500. You can get tickets through our website or at the show ($5 each, 5 for $20). The drawing is August 10 at our Main Stage performance with Grammy-awarded Alison Brown, need not be present to win. Check out all EOH programs and services on our website.

Earlville Opera House Arts Center is located at 18 East Main Street in the quaint Village of Earlville, NY. At EOH we believe accessibility and inclusion are critical to everything we do. Our historic Opera House has been upgraded to ensure accessibility throughout the building, including a hearing loop system in our 1892 theater provided by Hamilton Hearing LLC.

EOH events are made possible with support from the Office of the Governor and NYS Legislature, administered by the New York State Council on the Arts, and through the generosity of EOH members. Special thanks to our 2024 Courtyard Series sponsor, Sidney Federal Credit Union.
